Verizon Email Shutdown Shifts Users to AOL
RingPlus News Service Los Angeles, April 11th, 2017 - Customers using Verizon’s email service are about to get a blast from the past. The company is set to shutter its email business and plans to shift those wishing to retain their verizon.net email address to the free AOL Mail service. Verizon acquired AOL back in 2015 primarily to source content. Users will have their email messages, contacts, and calendars (hopefully smoothly) transferred to AOL. There is currently no set date for the shut down, so those wishing to move to another email host should do so as soon as possible. Verizon plans to release the shut down date at webmail.verizon.com. Currently, an “Email service notice” is already available at the specified website and includes more information.
