1.  I have done all the troubleshooting for my Samsung Galaxy S5, but it still has very poor signal strength in my entire apartment on a high floor, and constantly drops calls in less than 1 minute, although Sprint signal in the area is showing 100%, but mine is showing about 25% and -107 dBm...As shown on "Open Signal" APP...

2.  I'm researching a Motorola Nexus 6 and LG G4, however the sellers have informed me that they are not compatible with Ring Plus...Is this true? If not,
Are there any issues using theses phones on Ring Plus?

3.  Currently, What are best phones for Ring Plus?

Is this phone compatible with Ring Plus? Can you please send me the ESN or enter it in the link below and send me the results? I'm interested in purchasing this phone.
It is advised that the buyer request the IMEI of the desired phone prior to purchase.

  • ;js1237 ,

I am 100% confident that nexus 6 works on ringplus. Hope this helps.
  • Ask the them Exactly why these phones do not work.
I have one LG G3 and one Nexus 6P currently in service with Ringplus.
The Galaxy S5 is rated highly, try to re-check the signal strength away from the apartment.
Check back, there are accomplished trouble shooters lurking here.
    Good luck.

I am using the Galaxy S5 Sport and a Galaxy S3 on RingPlus. They work pretty well.

Have you done a PRL update and a Profile Update? The PRL update tells your phone about the towers in the area. The Profile update programs your phone for what features and capabilities you have attached to your plan.

You can find the needed information to do both a PRL Update and a Profile Update here:
    https://ringplus.net/help

Note: There is a section especially for Samsung phones.

After trying this, restart your phone (even if it already restarted) and test again. Please do let us know how it's doing after your tests.

  • @js1237 :: At this link there are some suggestions about poor reception on an S5:
    http://www.technobezz.com/fix-signal-service-samsung-galaxy-s5/

I don't have an S5 nor have I used any of these suggestions so you may want to research them before attempting them.

I have nexus 6 XT1103 64G, unlocked. It works perfect on Ringplus. Choose google version if you want Nexus 6.

Wonder if they're saying that because the device will fail the Financial Eligibility Check or Date (FEC or FED) such as for unpaid balance ... so can only be activated on Sprint.

A Big Thanks to everyone and here's my answers to your questions:

    1.  It's difficult getting detailed info from the sellers.
    2. The signal works well outdoors but indoors is very frustrating as almost like having no phone service at all.
    3. Yes I have done the PRL update and a Profile Update several times following Ring Plus instructions, in the past 7 weeks since purchasing this phone.
    4.  I checked the article below, but it's for NO SIGNAL at all, whereas mine is for poor indoor signal....

How To Fix No Signal Or No Service On Samsung Galaxy S5

I've been troubleshooting the Poor Signal problem for  7 weeks and will continue to do so....I'm hoping that if I purchase the Nexus 6 or LG G4, the problem will be resolved...or that may just be wishful thinking...

Since you are getting no monthly bill, can consider buying a repeater. I am considering it since i have a dead zone in my house for Sprint.

There's a thread on the forum about the Top 11 phones with Best Signal Strength though not sure how useful or accurate it might be since the study was done in Nordic Countries. I posted it just because I thought it was interesting.

Doing a search might lead you to actual testing done in USA.

    1. My wifi is fine, but my phone signal is poor.  The open signal app shows that there are 0 nearby cell towers and there are 24 wifi spots nearby... I recently purchased a new Motorola 7420 Modem and an ASUS RT 1200 router..Therefor, I don't think that repeaters or extenders will help with the poor phone signal...

    2. Yes, I seen the top 11 phones and they're very pricey and think that many will not work on Ring Plus...

    3.  Most of the Nexus 6 phones are by Motorola, will theses phones work with Ring Plus?

    Thank you...

I suppose what @hhfpphone mentioned as repeaters are for boosting your Sprint signals indoor and not the regular wifi range extenders.

As far as i know, Nexus 6 should work with R+, unless its IMEI is blacklisted by Sprint.

highly unlikely Nexus 6 would fail FED. Sprint and its MVNOs never carry it.

But can't someone activate a Nexus on Sprint on postpaid & not pay their bill .. so there would be a balance due?

    The_uncomfortable_truth:
If the app is accurate no phone will pull in a good signal if you are not in reasonable proximity to the tower(s).  What does the Signal Check Lite app show?
Dropped calls are indicative of poor network coverage.

What does the Sprint coverage map show for your immediate area when you get it down to the street level?

The Signal Check Lite app shows ...RSRP -118dBm (13 asu)...  When I get to street level the signal becomes much stronger...
The open signal app still shows that there are 0 nearby cell towers and there are 24 wifi spots nearby.
    Thank You..

Does anyone know where I can buy the proper SIM Card for my newly purchased (not delivered yet) LG G4 phone??

    =================================================================================================
Thank you for contacting RingPlus support! We do apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused. For the LG G4, you will need Sprint sim card SIMGLW236C. We currently do not offer this sim card but it can be purchased at any Sprint store.
    Thank you.
    =============================================================================================

THIS IS SAME SIM CARD # THAT YOU GAVE ME, SO WHY WON'T  IT WORK.....

AND WHY DON'T RING PLUS SELL THEM, SINCE THE PHONE PASSED THE ESN TEST????   IS THERE GOING TO BE PROBLEMS IN FINDING A COMPATIBLE SIM CARD?????

IF SO, IF I KNEW , I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A DIFFERENT PHONE THAT RING PLUS HAS SIM CARD....I CHOSE THIS PHONE OVER THE NEXUS 6, WHICH RING PLUS HAS THE SIM CARD....  CAN YOU GIVE ME A LINK TO A SITE WHERE I CAN PURCHASE THE COMPATIBLE CARD???? THANKS..

I'm not sure how many people will appreciate being yelled at that you need to use that large of a font.

Oh ok .. yeah it does that sometimes when copying/pasting .. it can be a pain. lol

Sorry I took so long getting back was busy elsewhere but it seems you figured out how to shrink it which is good because it might have been hard to explain. lol Sometimes it's easy using the Heading formatting button but sometimes you have to edit the HTML itself.

I have my LG G4 on Ringplus.  It will work as long as it is a Sprint version and passes the BYOD checker and has the correct SIM card.

My LG G4 has the SIMGLW236C installed bought from Ebay.  Works perfectly.  As long as the sim number is SIMGLW236C it will work.  No need to get any confirmation.  You can always get a refund from Ebay if it doesn't work.

This is the exact seller I bought my SIM from:
