Really?  Benevolent Unlimited t&t at $7.99 vs Tello Unlimited t&t (no data) at $18?  Both on Sprint.  The value is obvious.

oops my ignorance. Myself signed up for Admirable on GSM instead because I don't need  unlimited T&T. In fact I will operate everything out of Google Voice, taking advantage of the unlimited slow data, and saving the real phone number's voice and text for selected few people.

sleek-forest-green-wavy-journey-828418 Novice 1 6:48AM Flag I have to admit, reading some the issues through this forum and my own skimming of the TPO support threads make me reluctant to switch.  Contacting their customer service seems very "Ringplus-like".  Further, they don't provide readily available port out instructions, insisting you have to phone contact them for those details.  I am tempted with the Benevolent plan, but hate the thought of potentially "losing" my number should I need to leave the carrier (which happened with RP).

At this stage, I believe comparing TPO CS to R+CS is an apples and oranges thing. TPO CS actually has a number one can call, unlike R+, whose CS was actually the MODS and other knowledgeable R+ forum members, apart from the  sometimes crapshoot-like chat and ticket system. And, apart from a few members on this thread, very few people who have signed up with TPO have actually called or contacted their CS. There certainly have been problems with getting data working quickly, but it appears that data has eventually started working for all concerned. So let's see what forum members think of TPO's CS down the road.

I'll agree that most support at RingPlus was crowd-sourced-- and I think it would be hard to put together a more capable group of unofficial assistants than we saw from the forum members!  It's nice to see a lot of those capable and friendly members still assisting customers of other MVNOs:  here, on Nth Circle, and elsewhere.

At RP, there was actually a very capable core group of tech employees to take care of network and account issues that don't lend themselves to crowd-sourced support.  For whatever reason, it's true that the capable tech staff wasn't always available when needed by members-- a cause of much discontent..

It's great to hear that a lot of the alternative MVNOs have some very capable staff, and that it's easy to get timely assistance.  I've seen plenty of reports of timely assistance, and a number of reports from specific MVNOs about techs that are good with very thorny problems.

  • Thanks god I saw this thread, I was paying $72.00 for 3 lines on Ting, now I only pay based on my use $25.00

I ported my active 3 lines, straight to TPO, took like 30 minutes, data took like 8 hours to work.

I have 2 Sprint phones, and 1 from Boost mobile, all androids.

    So far so good !!

In GA that plan was $9.32 for me.  I've seen people post around $9 - $10 for the plan.  About $1.50 for tax then.

  • 19.52% tax in California for the benevolent plan. I pay $7.99+$1.56=$9.55

Peculiar---I'm in California with same plan $7.99+$1.04= $9.03. As speculated on before, tax must differ from county to county or city to city, or some combo thereof.

I'm in Los Angeles area. Tello use to charge me $0.59 for $3.00. I think is about the same rate as TPO
  • mmfacemmmmfacemm All Star 48
Tello is usually a little cheaper as they do not charge tax on the data portion.

Tello did not charge me tax on data or texts, only on voice.
  • The plan I had with Tello was $7.59 for 200mb+100 voice, and no text.
Now I pay  $9.55. I'm paying $1.96 more with unlimited everything. That is why I switched.

I'm in California, I pay $10.47 for Unlimited text, 200mb, 100 talk with Tello, If by the 5th of next month TPO still has that deal i will be changing, TOP $7.99 + Tax = $9.55 correct?  So it's about the same for me but i would get unlimited Talk or voice minus 100mb. They both have unlimited data @ 64kb from what i understand. Although i don't use talk a lot it's still nice to have just in case and not have to worry about it.
  • Yes, $9.55 (including taxes)is what I pay now. FYI, I still like Tello. If something goes wrong with TPO, Im running back to Tello LOL

A quick follow-up after using the Benevolent $7.99/mo plan for a week.  I haven't had any problems after the 24 hour data activation delay (due to porting) and it works great.  I couldn't be happier with such an inexpensive plan.

I just setup a GSM phone on the Benevolent $7.99/mo plan. Waited about 4 days for a free SIM card. TPO uses AT&T for their GSM network.
  • jSoNjSoN Pro 6
@jefro1 are you sure that TPO uses ATT or did I miss anything here. I did order a sim, but post itself says that this offers are on sprint.

Thx all for updating on tax...

Wish this offers can stay on for a while, my current prepaid started recently and would go through July 10th.

TPO please have wifi calls enabled...

TPO does not use Sprint for GSM phones. I said mine uses AT&T but now I am not sure.
Network Cell Info Lite says AT&T. Truecaller says T-mobile.
How to tell on my Android 6.0?

TPO is tmobile on gsm and sprint for cdma
  • How about a promotional plan that offers 250Mb +Unl 64K, Unlimited T&T, priced at about $9.99 / $10.49.

Yes. I am done with Sprint. Their LTE data coverage is really week.

Yes. For Tello, use Paygo for voice and subscribe a plan for text/data is one of my favorite combos, value wise. You pay taxes on Paygo refills and for text/data only plans there is no tax.  In other words if you use Paygo for text and data it is not very efficient because of the taxes.
